Job Title: Housekeeper
Location: Tribeca, NYC
Salary: $40-45 per hour/ Healthcare
Schedule: Weds-Sun, 30-40 hours per week plus occasional overtime
A family of five seeks a full-time housekeeper with weekend coverage to work with an existing housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness and organization of a household throughout the week, including weekends. This includes tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, doing laundry, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens. Other duties include running errands and organizing closets and pantries. The ideal candidate for this role should have excellent attention to detail, strong time management skills, and a friendly and professional demeanor. They should also be able to work collaboratively with an existing housekeeper and have a flexible schedule that includes weekend coverage.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Cleaning and Sanitizing:
- Dust, vacuum, and wash floors, carpets, windows, window treatments, and lighting fixtures.
- Utilize the highest level of care and professional estate-level techniques to maintain a valuable · Deep seasonal cleaning of household interiors (kitchen, baths, living areas, pantries, etc.).
- Ensure home(s) is clean, set up, and 'guest ready' always for the family and guests’ collection of fine art and furnishings.
Laundry and Linen Care:
- Expert care of laundry and care for fine linens and clothing
- Sort, wash, iron, and fold clothing and linens according to specific instructions or preferences.
- Handle delicate fabrics and special care items with attention to detail.
Organizing and Tidying:
- Arrange and organize personal belongings, ensuring everything is in its designated place.
- Assist in decluttering and managing storage spaces for optimal organization.
- Organize closets and turn them over each season.
Assisting Chef and Butler
- Assist with shopping for food and household supplies. Help conduct and keep updated regular inventory, maintain appropriate quantities, and remove expired items when necessary.
- Set up and clean up for meals.
- Occasionally set up/clean up before and after social gatherings in the home.
- Actively update the Housekeeping Manager and inform them about any non-routine or emergent matters related to residence maintenance.
- Run housekeeping-related errands for the family when in residence, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional domestic house experience in a UHNW private home or estate.
- Excellent references are required.
- Work well with others, be a team player, take direction, and work autonomously.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with exceptional commitment and dedication to daily responsibilities.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience in properly cleaning and maintaining all clothing and surfaces within the residence, including flooring, hardware, wall coverings, and drapery.
- Strong experience with laundry and ironing; understands how to care for and clean different materials. Experience with fine fabrics and garments.
- Strong experience in the care of museum-quality art and fine objects.
- Ability to multitask and remain patient and calm in unexpected changes.
- Experience with anticipating the needs of others.
- Courteous, pleasant demeanor, discreet, honest, non-obtrusive, and responsible character.
- Extraordinarily service-oriented and implicitly understands the nuances of providing invisible service levels.
- Knowledge of general use and maintenance of household appliances, electronics, and equipment.
- Flexibility with hours and scheduling; willing to work long hours and sometimes on short notice.
Requirements:
- Ability to frequently reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift to 25 LBS.
- Fluent in English.
